Danger comes ingersoll from the fact rand that heavy-duty centrifugal force does not increase in direct proportion to an increase in speed, but instead it air increases as the square of that speed increase. When rotational speed doubles, angle and sander centrifugal force quadruples. This model effect means that relatively small changes in speed 313 can produce significant increases in force. In ingersoll the rand and heavy-duty and air and angle example mentioned, sander and model changing from 6,600 rpm to 7,700 rpm multiplies the speed by 1.167. However, the corresponding centrifugal force 313 would ingersoll multiply by a factor rand of 1.167 x 1.167, or 1.36. To take a more extreme example, consider heavy-duty the same air wheel with a maximum safe angle operating speed of 6,600 rpm run on a 5-inch sander right model angle grinder at 10,000 rpm. This represents an over-speed of about 1.5 times the wheel''s designed 313 and ingersoll and rand speed. But the heavy-duty corresponding air centrifugal force-and the corresponding rotational stress on the wheel-would be about 2.3 times as much as the maximum allowed. The hazard of running man over-speed condition comes from centrifugal angle force. sander A result of rotary motion, centrifugal model force is what causes a weight on the end of a 313 string to pull ingersoll the string taught when the weight is swung rand in heavy-duty and air a circle. angle This same force causes the mass of the sander grinding model wheel to be pulled outward from the center of rotation as the wheel is spinning 313. ©2003 www.airsanders.com.
